How Technology Works?

Techonology is anything that satisfy human needs. Technology is not just that, it contains many concepts that might be hard for some, but not all people to understand. If you trully understand technology, you will be able not be controlled by it and to recognize the negative side of them and try to fix them.

WHAT'S TECHNOLOGY?
Technology is anything that helps and satisfies human needs. People think that technology has to be man-made, but technology is created when you use something for something. This means the actual object is not technology, you make it technology when you use it. Meaning a rock can be technology and it's not man-made because you might use it to kill a spider and that's technology because the rock is helping you to kill the spider.

WHAT'S THE NEGATIVE SIDE OR SIDE EFFECT OF TECHNOLOGY?
Well, technology (for most people) is known for its good sides. When I say good sides, I mean things that help you. But you have never thought of techonology having a negative side to it because you'll think it's not technology anymore, but it still is technology because it still helps you in some way. Every single technology has to have a negative side to it. If you can think of one that doesn't, post it in the comment section. For example, you might think that a solar car doesn't have a negative side to it because it saves energy, but solar cars are still cars and when cars were created, the people started to expand more into new areas and so this was somewhat bad because we might have invaded animal's territories and made more pollution. This is a great example that there's always something bad to technology. That's why it's really good to recognize the negative sides of technology so we can most of the time correct those negative sides.

WHAT ARE HIDDEN MESSAGES OF TECHNOLOGY?
Hidden messages of technology are messages that are implied to you by the object/technology to tell you what mainly the technology is used for. Don't think that the technology talks to you or has the hidden message written over the technology. You have to use the common sense to find that hidden message in that technology. For example, if you see a ruler for the first time, you will think that it's used for measuring things. That's the hidden message and you figured it out by your common sense, the ruler didn't talked to you and told you its hidden message. It's important to recognize the hidden messages of things to see the negative side of that hidden message and using that technology in another healthy way. For example, the powerpoint's hidden message is "use me to show info. fast and not explain it deeply". You can notice that that hidden message is kind of negative so you have to use the powerpoint in a different way that will help you.

WHAT PROBLEMS DOES TECHNOLOGY NOT SOLVE?
You might think that technology solves everything, but not always. Does technology cure emotional problems like love or sadness, yes and no. There's pills (tech) that might help you feel better, but most of the time its yourself that has to get over it and try to be happy. Also, technology cannot solve most of the time moral problems. For example, if you killed someone's daughter, the father will be mad at you and I don't think theirs any technology that can solve that. There might be psychologic therapies that will help you forgive, but there will always be that small anger that you keep.

WHAT  NEW PROBLEMS DOES TECHNOLOGY CREATE?
Like I said before, technology has a negative side. That negative side always turns into a problem if you recognize it. The bigger the negative side, the bigger the problem is. Also, there might be a small negative side to a technology which turns into a small problem, but time can affect it and turn it into a big problem. For example, if you use your email all day, the small negative side of it is that you will spend less time with your children, but if you spend 15 years putting attention to your email and less to your children, your children will turn to a bad direction and turn into something bad- gangsters, robbers, killers, etc. That's why it's important to recognize the negative sides of things because they might turn from a unnoticable thing to a huge unfixible problem.

HOW DOES SOCIETY/CULTURE AFFECT TECHNOLOGY?
Society can affect society in a lot of diverse ways. Society can affect what kind of technology we are going to create that can help us. Also, it can affect technology in a way where we can use technology negatively and positively. Meaning the negative side of technology is not the only thing that creates problems, but also us in the way we use technology. This means we can affect someone else in the way we use technology negatively. We might do this in purpose or not even in purpose. For example, someone might create the light bulb. That's good for everyone, except the people that work in candle companies. This a great example of technology affecting us in a good way and at the same time affecting others in a bad way.

HOW DOES TECHNOLOGY AFFECT OUR HABITS AND WAYS OF LIVING?
In the paragraph before, I was talking about how we affect technology. But technology affects us, too. Believe it or not, technology can affect the way we think, live and our habits. One example is before the light bulb was invented, everyone went to sleep when the sun went down and woke up when the sun went back up. But after the light bulb was invented, people could now be able to do new things in the dark with the light bulb in the time they used to sleep. That's a habit change. Another example might be if stores start making shopping online, they will close their stores. So the poor people that don't have internet will have no place to shop so they will live poor still. That's a way of living change. Another example is before spaceships were invented, people thought the world was squared. But after the spaceships were invented, people went to space and discovered that the earth was round and that changed your way of thinking.

HOW DOES TECHNOLOGY AND SCIENCE INTERACT?
Science and technology are related in a lot of ways. Science uses technology to help it learn new thing about nature. Also the knowledge science learns about nature might be used to create new technology. Technology and science are similar to theories and laws.

WHAT'S THE AVERAGE PERSON'S POINT OF VIEW IN TECHNOLOGY?
I think that most of the people see technology as only helping us. They don't recognize the negative sides and hidden effects of technology. The results of this ignorance like I explained before may bring up problems. That's why it's good to recognize them. Also, people don't think about how is the technology going to affect someone else. This may bring up problems, too. And finally people don't notice how technology changes you (your habits, your way of thinking, and your way of living). This might be good and bad depending on how you're using technology. If you don't recognize this things and try to solve them and control them, the technology will end up controlling you.
